Distribution here is not a question of distance but of terrain. The Terai plains, the mid-hills and the high valleys each demand different transport, different lead times and different storage discipline. Our network is built around that reality rather than around a list of cities.

Trans-Himalayan districts — Humla, Mugu, Dolpa, Manang, Mustang, Solukhumbu, Taplejung, Darchula. Seasonal road access, air freight for part of the year, and the longest lead times in the country. Cold chain here is a planning problem before it is an equipment problem.

The mid-hills and the valleys — Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur in the Kathmandu Valley, plus Pokhara, Tansen, Dhankuta, Ilam, Surkhet, Dadeldhura. Most of Nepal’s specialist treatment capacity sits here, and so does the majority of our institutional volume.

The southern plains — Biratnagar, Birgunj, Janakpur, Bhairahawa, Butwal, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, Bhadrapur. More than half the population, the densest pharmacy network, the main customs entry points, and the fastest-growing demand for chronic and oncology therapy.

We state this in two parts, because they are different things and a partner will ask which is which.
Kathmandu provides network control. Eight major distribution centres create regional depth, while 42 sub-distribution channels connect onward to institutional and licensed pharmacy routes.
Beyond those districts, medicines travel through wholesale and retail pharmacy and through appointed regional distributors. This is where the remaining population is served, and it is why territory appointments matter as much to a manufacturer as to us.
Our stated ambition is to place a distribution point or an appointed distributor within practical reach of Nepal’s principal population and treatment centres, including Karnali, where we are building representation.
